Spring energy fluctuations occur in nature, and we are part of nature. Sometimes we feel tired in spring and sometimes we can feel like doing too much in spring.

Watch this short talk for some thoughts on how to become aware of what your body and mind need in the moment and manage the fluctuations of spring energy.

Check out my Video page for Spring Vinyasa flow, containing breathing techniques, a spring tea recipe, and yoga! This on-demand class is available for a limited time during the spring season only.

Tools like meditation and yoga are versatile in that they can be applied in both the ordinary and extraordinary moments. A meditation while settling into bed:

  • Reflect on your gratitudes for the day. These can be big or small gratitudes. If you journal, then write them down, otherwise, let your mind list them and spend some time soaking them in.

  • Imagine the earth energy rising up your spine, to the crown of your head and then connecting with the energy of the universe.

  • Ask for spirit or your dreams to bring guidance to your attention on a specific question you have, on the path to your highest good.

We are moving with nature into a quiet and reflective season, a time to connect with spirit. Spirit can have any meaning that resonates with you, and your connection will also shift over time. As we venture into a season that promotes reflection, soul growth, and spirit connection we reach to the sky, like a tall tree. For the tree to grow so high, it must have the strong roots, deep into the earth. We have opportunities every day to connect with earth energy and groundedness -- it can come from being aware when you are doing everyday tasks like eating a meal, putting away dishes, housecleaning, or doing the laundry. These ordinary moments are the perfect time to practice awareness in your body, your movements, and thoughts.
